In a third quarter of Activision Blizzard newly released Investor document, the editor officially announced that diablo IV has been rejected. The game never had a firm launch date to start, and it was not expected to be launched until after this year, so it is difficult to say exactly when the fans could wait for it. The delay was announced together with a similar decision for overwatch 2. During the call, Activision attributed the delay to give your equipment more time to concentrate on these two releases, so that the finished games can be up to expectations.
These are two of the most anticipated titles of the industry, and our teams have made great progress towards its completion in recent quarters. But we believe that giving teams a little more time to complete production and continue to increase their creative resources to support titles after the launch will ensure that these releases delight and involve their communities for many years in the future, it is read in A slide of the document. The document also seemed to imply that the games could be launched in 2023.
Taking into account some of the negative comments that surround diablo II: Resurrected, a delay for the next game of the series may not be the worst decision! The Remake was launched in September, but the constant problems of the game server have led to the demands of reimbursement of the players. It is impossible to say if this played a role in diablo IV the delay, but Activision Blizzard could be playing as sure to make sure it does not happen a similar situation with the next game of the series. Delays can certainly be frustrating, but a hurried product is certainly worse. Hopefully, the team that works in diablo IV will get all the time you need to make sure that the game fulfills its promise.
