According to a new report, Project XCloud could offer PC games similar to GeForce Now when it exit on the platform this year.
Project XCloud is Microsoft s cloud game service, which is currently running a public overview of Android and iOS devices, although with certain restrictions, with Xbox One titles.
The public overview will be extended to the PC in 2020 and, on the basis of the information collected by Brad Sams, a reliable insider, it could allow players to broadcast PC games already in their library on Android, iOS and Windows devices.
This would allow users to play more easily at demanding PC games on low specification laptop configurations, or have these titles available on their smartphones.
The functionality would be announced soon, perhaps even before the E3 2020 in June, and could put Microsoft in competition not only with Google Stadia, which requires buying autonomous copies of the games that players want, but also with GeForce Now Nvidia.
GeForce Now allows you to play PC games that are already in your Steam libraries, Epic Games Store, Uplay and Origin. After a beta period, he released his full version, played by more than one million players, and will soon introduce 1,500 additional titles.
However, it is not clear if Project Xcloud would propose streaming from Microsoft Store alone or would support other digital retailers.
